How It Works
Streamlined, Boutique School photography for Bay Area preschools and elementary schools
I provide a streamlined, boutique school portrait experience for Bay Area preschools and elementary schools.
*
This is why I take on a select number of schools each season so your team and families receive attentive, responsive service.
What school portrait services do you offer?
I provide a boutique Photo Day experience that is streamlined, and low-lift for directors, all while still being enjoyable for families.
There are no minimum orders and the school owes nothing upfront. All revenue is generated through parent purchases.
Each child receives 2–5 carefully captured portraits, fully edited in both color and black & white. Parents access a secure online gallery to view and order prints or digital images directly.
I handle all parent communication regarding ordering and products, so your team can stay focused on students.
Additional school portrait services
Class photos and Staff photos are included at no extra charge.
Digital images are provided to the school for use in yearbooks, social media, school advertising, IDs, to give just a few examples.
Custom services will be provided on a per-request basis and may be subject to a fee.
What will the school need to do?
(All emails & templates are written for you – so you can focus on the important work you are doing at the school!)
Prior to Photo Day, I provide the templates that the school will use to send an introductory email and two reminders.
Photo Day: Portraits are taken indoors (hallway or room) and Class Photos outdoors. I ask schools to provide one assistant to bring in the children for Portraits.
Within 2 weeks after Photo Day, the school sends an email to the parents announcing that the Gallery of images is ready for viewing and ordering. This is where I take over customer service.
Within 2 weeks after the order deadline, prints and products are delivered to the school for distribution.

Secure online gallery + simple ordering
Retake / absent student policy
Insurance + contract in place

Director FAQs
-
We begin with a short call to make sure we’re a good fit and to answer any initial questions. If we decide to move forward, we confirm a date and sign an agreement to secure it on the calendar.
-
After booking, I send a detailed Photo Day Guide for your team. This printable guide outlines the schedule, assistant role, student flow, and what to expect before, during, and after Photo Day — so everyone feels prepared.
We also schedule a quick check-in call 3–4 weeks before Photo Day to review details and finalize logistics.
-
Most schools book at least 6 months in advance. I photograph a select number of schools each season (no more than 3 per month) to maintain a boutique, focused experience.
-
No — there are no school fees and no minimum orders. Parents purchase directly through the online gallery.
-
Parent pricing ranges:
• Prints start at $14
• Single digital image $45
• Full digital gallery $105
(Prices subject to change.) -
Parents receive a secure online gallery and order directly on the platform. I handle all customer service related to products and orders so your staff is not fielding parent questions.
-
If 5 or more students are absent, I offer a makeup day.
Otherwise, families may book a discounted mini portrait session with me on select future dates. -
Low-resolution digital files are provided for internal school use such as yearbooks, newsletters, IDs, and social media.
-
It depends on the children’s ages:
Infants: up to 5 minutes per child
Ages 3–6: about 1–2 minutes per child
For a preschool of around 50 students, including individual portraits, siblings, staff, and class photos, the photography portion is typically about 3 hours ( 4 hours total on site, including setup and breakdown).
-
Students are typically brought in small groups to maintain flow. Younger children do best in groups of 2–3, while older children can come in slightly larger groups.
This keeps Photo Day efficient while still giving each child individual attention.
-
The guide includes:
Timeline overview
Assistant responsibilities
Student flow recommendations
Absence procedures
Gallery timeline
Distribution process
It’s designed to answer common questions in advance and reduce back-and-forth.
